Description

The programmer aims to qualify teachers with high educational and scientific competence in chemistry for the basic and secondary stages in order to provide distinguished education capable of serving the community.

Objectives

1.      The program aims to qualify teachers with high educational and scientific competence in chemistry for the basic and secondary education stages.

2.      Preparing qualified cadres to raise the level of education at the university in line with the changes in the labor market.

3.      Enable teachers to understand scientific concepts and theories in the field of chemistry in a way that supports their professional performance in schools.

Entry Reuirements

1.      The applicant to study in the Department of Chemistry must have completed secondary school or its equivalent with a good grade (65%) or above.

2.      The applicant must pass the entrance exam and personal interview successfully.

Study Plan

The Bachelor in Chemistry prepares students to qualify for Bachelor in Chemistry. The student studies several subjects which have been carefully chosen in this major to cover its different aspects.

It comprises 8 Semesters of study, in which the student will study a total of 140 units, which include 56 units of general subjects, and 84 major units, 4 of elective units. In addition to a final project in the student's major.

The course of physical chemistry practical 3 is concerned with determining the rate of a chemical reaction, determining the order of the reaction, the reaction rate tab, and the half-life period for first- and second-order reactions, the student studies the catalytic dissociation of some chemical compounds in the presence of a catalyst. The student works to determine the reaction rate constant, activation energy, and frequency coefficient for some chemical reactions by studying the effect of temperature on the reaction rate constant. Students study the adsorption of acetic acid by activated charcoal.Course objectivesThat the student be proficient in conducting practical experiments in kinetic chemistry and be able to estimate the rate, rank and constant of the speed of a chemical reaction, study the role of the catalyst in chemical reactions and determine the activation energy graphically.
