The Department of Sociology is a program included in the Faculty of Arts - University of Tripoli. It was established with the establishment of the faculty in 1996. It grants a bachelor’s degree when achieving 127 credits, following the open semester system. It also grants a master's degree and a doctoral degree in various disciplines of sociology. The Department of Sociology contributes to the preparation of local qualified human resources, as an insurance for development.

Prof. Hussein Salem Ahmed Mrgin • Professor of Sociology, Faculty of Arts, University of Tripoli, Department of Sociology.
